Creating Videos for Teaching

In this workshop we will focus on the pedagogical benefits of using videos for learning, and discuss some of its pitfalls and necessary considerations prior to using them in teaching. This is a hands-on workshop where you will be required to record a video using PowerPoint, Zoom and/or Echo360, so please BYO laptop. We hope to see you there on Tuesday 24 November from 1 to 2:30 pm. This session will be facilitated on campus in a COVID-19 friendly teaching room.

Polling

As part of our “How-To Workshop” series, this will provide you with information on how to use online polling tools. This session will be run on Thursday 26 November from 1 to 2 pm. It will focus on how these tools support student engagement in an online environment and how to apply these online tools to in-class activities. We will investigate the use of tools such as: Zoom Poll, Poll Everywhere, Menti and Socrative.

Virtual Whiteboards

Do you miss the spontaneity of marking up a whiteboard?  Share ideas, diagrams, and concepts while promoting participation in your online classes with virtual whiteboards! Join this hands-on workshop on Friday, 27 November from 1 to 2 pm and explore the interactivity that virtual whiteboards have to offer.
