“I teach them about why it’s important for Pacific Islanders to be empowered, but at the same time my students learn how empowered they can be in the context of Pacific studies and how they can apply those things to other areas of their life or other studies that have nothing to do with the Pacific. I try to give them a basket of tools that they can use in many, many different contexts.”A/Prof Katerina Teaiwa
“If I couldn’t teach, if I didn’t engage with undergraduates for example, I’m not sure if I’d still be an academy. I love research, I publish, I do lots of things, but the most meaningful thing for me is undergraduate teaching. “A/Prof Katerina Teaiwa
